According to the interview by Sanjiv Bhattacharya Mary J was at her worst at the time was filming of the movie Mudbound where she played an exceptional role as the strong character of Florence Jackson. A role that has already been recognized by the Gotham Awards with a Breakthrough Actor nomination and at the Hollywood Film Awards with a win for Best Breakout Actress. Ms. Blige attributes the success of this to the pain from her divorce. Mudbound” will be released worldwide on Netflix and in select theaters on November 17.
