02 Jun A QUEEN HAS MANY FACES: SOPHIE TURNER FOR THE EDIT BY NET-A-PORTER MAY 2019 ISSUE
British actress and on-screen favourite Sophie Turner shows a new side to her in an interview with Porter Edit. The delectable actress has come a long way from being the thirteen-year-old scouted by casting directors for the Game of Thrones series. Sophie talks about her new marriage (seven and a half days old at the time of the interview), leaving Sansa Stark behind, her leading role in X-Men Dark Phoenix with other A-listers and mental health.
Modelling new 9-5 essentials in flawless neutrals that come together in a sleek, cultured look, the 23-year-old and new wife seems to be rather level-headed amid all the excitement that currently surrounds her. She’d rather have kept her Vegas wedding a secret, would like to dress how she likes regardless of the swarms of paparazzi in her Nolita neighbourhood and is happy to be able to speak wisdom through her new character as Jean Grey, creating awareness about mental health; schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder and addiction.
About leaving her Game of Thrones character behind in a stunning finale, Sophie says “When I read that script, I was so happy—it feels like the most perfect ending for Sansa,” she told Porter Edit. “Having gone through everything she has, it’s the most positive outcome, and it feels right for her. She’s so capable now, she’ll be an incredible ruler in the North.” We feel just the same about Sophie, except her journey is only just beginning.
