01 Oct FASHION WEEK HIGHLIGHTS: DENIM SHORTS HAVE MADE A COMEBACK COURTESY GIVENCHY AND ISABEL MARANT
It’s a no-brainer that Paris has put on most of the impressive shows this fashion season. Denim cut-offs are most recent in this fashion upsurge as a winning trend for the summer.
This was seen first at Isabel Marant, where colourful hot pants were teamed with other festival-appropriate wear, while at Givenchy, models wore ripped, light-wash shorts with oversized shirts or blazers.
Although denim shorts are always on trend in some way, the raw-hem, super-short variety have not been favoured on the catwalks or on the street-style crowd for some time, but that might all be about to change.
Isabel Marant’s take on the trend came in the former with black, cream, orange and teal denim hot pants with heavily frayed detail, which were shown with colourful printed T-shirts, strappy tops or matching denim jackets.
