16 Jun Five facts about Dsquared2 latest collection
Dsquared2 is one of the few Canadian brands that could conquer the whole world.
In 1994, brothers Dean and Dan Caten invested $70,000 each in the creation of the future fashion empire. Talented designers struck the first men’s collection at an Italian factory.
Nowadays, Dsquared2 stores are open all over the world, and every new collection becomes the subject of close attention and discussion.
The world known celebrities also adore the brand. Among the main admirers of the brand are model Kendall Jenner, singer Beyonce and Kylie Minogue, as well as musicians Ricky Martin and Justin Bieber.
Blanck Digital selected five key facts about the new autumn/winter 2017/2017 collection.
Canadian nature, culture and even lifestyle inspired Catens to create a new autumn/winter collection. The collection found a place for reminiscent outlooks of the harsh northern everyday life. The line consists of heavy sheepskin coats, voluminous hats and bright anoraks. Moreover, the collection is also referring to the North American cowboy aesthetics, as it offers a variety of sheepskin, denim, fringe and checkers in all sorts of clothes.
Denim is the main feature of Dsquared2. In the new collection, it has become part of complex multi-layer images, a strong basis for any kind of design and style.
Caten brothers like to play with contrasts, hence, it can be safely taken on board. For example, one of the brightest moments during the show was Natasha Poly’s outlook. Top model went on the stage in a luxurious evening dress embroidered with sequins, wrapped around in a voluminous cardigan, which seem to be from her grandmother’s trunk.
The designers themselves call their style Glung – formed from the concepts of glamor and grunge.
“Luxurious, but careless,” – described in three words the idea of Dsquared2 Dean Caten.
Outerwear is another accent in the latest Dsquared2 collection. Fashioned experts know that Dsquared2 leather jacket is a great autumn choice while the brand’s coats will save from the fierce Canadian cold.
In the new collection is also worth paying attention to a variety of ponchos – especially they will appreciate the country style fans.
Despite the practical aspects of the Dsquared2 autumn/winter 2017/2018 collection, there was a place in it for ultra-high-end clothes with clear historical references. This time, Catens turned to Canada’s strong connection with Britain, presenting a string of elegant dresses in the Edwardian style.
Hence, guests of the show saw a variety of clothes covered with frills and maximally covering the body. However, in the hands of Dsquared2 designers, the outlooks still represented daring and sexy characters. The brand traditionally kept its philosophy—
“Dsquared2– a brand that you do not need to be shy about.”
