Flying Cloud: new Chanel collection

At the Haute Couture Week in Paris, the Chanel House has traditionally introduced a new collection of high-end jewellery– Flying Cloud.

In honour of the yacht, on which Mademoiselle spent many happy days the collection received a Flying Cloud title.

A magnificent ship belonged to Hugh Grosvenor, 2th Duke of Westminster, one of the main men in Chanel’s life.

The new collection has everything for what Mademoiselle loved in Cote d’Azur. Chanel’s jewellers embodied in the collection the gold of tan and its contrast with white pearls as well as sapphire blue of the sea and sky.

Moreover, Flying Cloud collection can be divided into two parts.

On one hand, it reinterprets simple objects from sea life. Hence, anchors are made of sapphires, careless and graceful ropes are made of gold and diamonds.

On the other hand, Flying Cloud consists of variations on the theme of the classic summer wardrobe. The collection has diamond and bib necklaces and golden braids. In addition, it includes branded tunics, taken from naval uniforms. Finally, jewellers add some bangles and rings in the form of a knot on a rope.
