05 Sep PATORANKING’S VISION FOR “HEAL D WORLD”
Renowned reggae and dancehall artist Patoranking released a non-album single called Heal D World, a fitting sequel to the hit track “Suh Different”. Patoranking’s musical prowess is no longer news as the artist is among the top-rated singers in the country and one of the very best in his chosen genre; his last album, God Over Everything debuted at No.4 on Billboard’s Reggae Album Charts. More laudable is his stance against social injustice and his passion to uphold the truth and be the voice of the common man.
Released just last month, “Heal D World” could not have been more timely. The song produced by Killashay and published by Amari Music was deemed a call to action with an emphasis on the current socio-political problems in Nigeria and in the world.
The video was shot in Tbilisi, Georgia, a country in Eastern Europe. Its release set the internet abuzz with its strong themes and beautiful visuals. Featuring the accomplished French born Georgian musician Bera Ivanishvili simply known as Bera and a choir of different singers from Georgia put together by the singer, the orchestra was a classic symphony and served as a brilliant background to the tone of the prevalent message. Recently, a new challenge has been initiated online tagged #HealDWorld Challenge. Performed by various groups and choirs, the idea seems to be permeating society as intended.
The multi-award winning artiste Patoranking is said to always have a vision for his videos and this is a clear evidence of the fact. His vision here was to have every race, background, age, profession and social status properly represented, to cut the divide and bring unity and peace. His goal was to project us all as global citizens. The set which was designed by the Georgian Dream Team featured several nationalities including Nigerians, Ghanaians and Georgians with focus on an outstanding little boy who is simply described as an uber talented Georgian.
With this impressive input, Patoranking has successfully made a significant contribution to the teeming voice of torchbearers and advocates, a message of love and acceptance, uniting all the people of the world. It most certainly is a timeless piece and will stay evergreen for a long time to come.
