Pop singer and latest fashion entrepreneur Rihanna and the LVMH group have finally launched the long promised Fenty Collection titled “Release 5-19″, in Paris.  Said to have been an interpretation of Rihanna’s personal style, the collection favours silhouettes with accentuated shoulders, cinched waists and waist bags to flatter the curves. The soft, simple colours include salmon, camel, white, and raw denim. Futuristic sunglasses and sandals also feature in the historic collection.

Prices range from $200 for a T-shirt to $1,500 for outerwear as expected from a luxury collection. In reference to this, Rihanna told the New York Times“Luxury couldn’t be something that cost 30 bucks. It has to be something more. The lower priced pieces are in there, too, and that was so important to me, but so was building a business based on quality. And real quality costs.”

“The debut of FENTY, Release 5-19 establishes the attitude, statement pieces, and materials of the Maison. Tailoring is of central importance as suiting, dressing, and shirts fit close to the body and emphasised by details that span the feminine and the masculine. Elsewhere, Japanese denim is introduce;d as signature for the Maison, and is rendered in sharp corset-dresses, constructed, oversized jackets, and straight fit and pleated jeans. For accessories, FENTY establishes eyewear and shoes as a central focus; in its premiere style the sunglasses turn into masks with exaggerated volumes, while footwear is sharply pointed and seen in strong colours with exposing cutouts. Lastly, FENTY introduces its fashion jewelry line with a game-changing way of wearing ear jewels.”– About FENTY by The Maison.
