For most, the first introduction to Aja Naomi King must’ve been on the TV hit How to Get Away With Murder by Shonda Rhimes. An Ivy leaguer from Yale School Drama graduate in she dubbed “The Best Three Years Of her life”, # years that she’ll “treasure forever”. She posed for Vanity Fair and talked about her rising career. After two seasons playing Michaela Pratt on How to Get Away with Murder, the actress takes a turn as Nat Turner’s wife, Cherry, in the coming biopic, Birth Of A Nation .
In photographs where she stunned in deigns from the likes of Prada, Jennifer Fisher, only to name a few, she explained what it’s like working in Shondaland, “I love these women for creating an environment where we can all be free, engaged, and not worry about being perfect.”
On Her Being in the Spotlight from the go :“I’ve been performing since I was a child; my mother would have to pull me aside and tell me that I wasn’t onstage,” she said in our July interview. “I was a cheerleader, president of choir, and in the school play.”
